Marching Band is an active, competitive, and friendly campus group that is open to all MVHS students. This award-winning program has three components--Marching Band (MB), Color Guard (CG), and Drum Line (DL). Freshman receive Fine Arts credit and Sophomores through Seniors can choose either a Fine Arts or PE credit.
The Marching Band season kicks off with camp in late July/August and continues through the fall. The band competes in 3-5 competitions in Northern California, performs at home football games and pep rallies, and participates in various other events throughout the season. A UNIFORM FITTING DAY is scheduled at MVHS to fit students with uniforms and to teach them how to care for uniforms during the season so they remain clean and pressed and may be used the following year. Drop-in fitting times are scheduled separately for girls and boys. ALL STUDENTS (except Color Guard) are required to attend! Watch for an email on dates/times for the current season.
Students should wear clothing similar to what they wear underneath their uniform during performances and that requires a minimal amount of undressing. Students change in the band room so please dress accordingly.
