Marching Band is an active, competitive, and friendly campus group that is open to all MVHS students. This award-winning program has three components--Marching Band (MB), Color Guard (CG), and Drum Line (DL). Freshmen receive one semester of Fine Arts credit and Sophomores through Seniors can choose either Fine Arts or PE credit.
Marching Band kicks off with our summer camp from July 28 to August 5th. After school and weekend practices and competitions continue through the fall. (Final dates will appear on the 26-27 MBCG Calendar when confirmed).

Any MV student can come experience Marching Band through the camp. (Usually held at the end of Jul -beginning of Aug) NO pre-registration required for the camp and there is no camp cost. (Families will be asked to contribute to the MV Keynoters at the Marching Band rate should your student decide to join).
Just turn up and try it!!
During the school season the band competes in 3-5 competitions in Northern California, performs at home football games and pep rallies, and participates in various other events. For funding and participation costs, and a complete overview of Marching Band, see below and click on the FAQs link.

SUPERBOWL 49ers Faithful Rally 2024
MVHS Marching Band & Color Guard
made appearance on NBC TODAY Show and NBC Bay Area Morning Show!

We were so excited that MV’s Marching Band and Color Guard made appearance on NBC’s Today Show as they rally Niners fans ahead of Sunday's LVIII Super Bowl. Our musicians were the sole band performing at the 49ers Faithful Rally at the City Center in San Ramon on Friday, February 9, 2024.
“What a fantastic performance at the rally. I'm thrilled that the nation witnessed the excellence we already know exists in Northern California – the Monte Vista Marching Band and Color Guard truly stand out as the best in class!
Thanks again for all your support, and we hope to do it again at the 2025 49ers Faithful Super Bowl rally!
Go Niners and Go Mustangs! “
