Marching Band Family Potluck and Showcase!

Friday, August 21, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at MVHS

 

Learn more about Marching Band and Color Guard, meet other parents and sign up for volunteer opportunities.  Special showcase performance led by our director, Ed Cloyd. Prepare to be amazed at what our musicians and color guard can accomplish in just two short weeks!

 

Bring your lawn/camping chairs and/or picnic blankets as we will be outside in the area in front of the new Student Union. Keynoters will provide cheeseburgers/hamburgers and veggie burgers.  Click here to sign up for other items such as salads, drinks, desserts and condiments, and/or to volunteer for set up, cooking, serving and clean up.

 

 

8-29 Unform Fitting

The Job and Supplies:  Need 3-4 ironing boards and irons, parents (Dads too) to check in students, take measurements, iron hems, and demonstrate proper hanging techniques. 

 

Qualifications: No sewing experience required, some ironing expertise a plus, on-site training available.

 

Time Commitment and Benefits: One hour, two hours... or stay all day! Great way to meet the individual students and to learn all the pieces of the marching band uniform!

PARENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

Pit Crew-Football Games/Competitions

The Job and Supplies:  Load and transport large instruments/equipment to and from field, set up and break down pit.

 

Qualifications: None! Ability to move swiftly and carry large items a bonus. On-site training available.

 

Time Commitment and Benefits: One game, two games...all season! You get to be on the field with the students while they perform! Randy might let you drive the golf cart:) 

Middle School Tour - Thursday, December 3rd 

Rent truck Wednesday afternoon (12/2), load truck at Monte Vista Thursday (12/3) morning about 7 a.m., return truck at approximately 3-4 p.m. Visit Local Middle Schools.
